Summary A super 25 points against a very good Eversley 3's side, will surely give the 3's some confidence for the rest of the season. This victory moves us up 2 places to 6th now, with Eversley still in 2nd.Ed Cambray, who has embraced his new role as opener worked really hard to see off the new ball from some enthusiastic youngsters and some indifferent bounce from the new Eversley track. He really deserved a 50 but fell agonisingly 3 short. The innings was drifting at 81-5 but skipper Simon Barnes was intent on grafting a score, and made 52*.Also with some useful later partnerships, especially 41 for the 9th wicket, with Simran who made a valuable 19,we probably overachieved in the end with 190.This was something to bowl at,despite the outfield being very fast. Also it shows how important it is to bat your overs out, almost!Eversley, who fielded for 3.5 hours in the heat, were shell shocked by Simran removing numbers 1+3 in the first 4 balls, with one an amazing one handed catch and bowl and this set the precedent.Sani Singh, who is 14,bowled with maturity at the other end and got good bounce from the wicket.Wickets fell regularly and the bowling and fielding was our best yet this season.Bitu's one handed 1st slip catch,of the dangerous Ryder, was breathtaking!Kenny bowled well and got a wicket first ball and Craig bowled as tightly as usual. Then just as it looked like the draw was becoming the favourite result skipper Barnes unleashed Bitu Thakker.Despite having knee supports etc holding him together,he produced 3 superb inswinging yorkers, all bowled over his 6 overs.Wanting to claim the glory Barnes bought himself on only for the plucky 13yo Bhadra to take 10 off his first over! However a famous victory was secured when Bhadra went for one big shot too many and was well caught by the ever dependable Steve O'Brien running across from long off,off Barnes.Well played to all,it was a gritty effort and a 34 run victory.
